SOUNDTRACK REVIEW:
A charming vampire who retains the physical body of a 17 year old and adopts a sense of morality who lives life by refusing to consider humans as food – what more can you ask for in him? How about crooning a tune on the soundtrack of the hit movie? Edward Cullen, the charismatic vampire from the movie adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s best selling novel does just that.
Oh, sorry, we meant to say, Rob Pattison, the good looking actor musician playing the captivating vampire does just that to exude his charm in audio format.
In the 45 minute album, girls would be putting “Never Think” on repeat mode to hear the calming tune written and performed by the up and coming actor. Yes, you read it here: the talented artistes writes and performs his own songs.
Elsewhere, the soundtrack contains a nice mix of alternative and punk rock songs which will appeal to head bangers. The loud and lively album kick starts with English alternative rock band Muse’s popular 2006 tune “Supermassive Black Hole”. After a hard hitting three odd minutes, we get Grammy nominated American rock band Paramore’s “Decode”, which is a new track which also doubles up as the soundtrack’s lead single.
The earsplitting music doesn’t stop there. Be shaken by Linkin Park’s infectious “Leave Out All The Rest”, Mutemath’s dramatic “Spotlight (Twilight Remix)” and Perry Farrell’s hypnotically psychedelic “Go All The Way (Into The Twilight)”, which is an original track specially written for the movie. The soothing but mysterious score track “Bella’s Lullaby” composed by Carter Burwell rounds up the album.
For a soundtrack which debuted at the top spot on the American Billboard 200, and has sold over 500,000 copies within USA, the movie’s success has been guaranteed. The phenomenon cannot be denied, so go out there and get a copy of this before the vampires turn nasty.
