ALBUM REVIEW:
Hot
Fuzz seems like a nice funny kick-ass movie; and the soundtrack
kicks ass. The album kicks off with a David “James Bond”
Arnold score, and this should set your alarm bells screaming
“PARODY!”
Interspersed with cheesy dialogue bits from the movie are
riotously rocking tracks from XTC, The Kinks, Supergrass,
The Move and The Fratellis. Keeping to a curiously dated 60’s-70’s
sound, the producers managed to maintain a ridiculously high
level of energy throughout the album and the corny Britty
jokes just keep hitting you, R21 language notwithstanding.
Great beats and beatnik vibes with a slacker attitude a great
compilation make. Staveley Makepeace.
ALBUM RATING:
Recommended Track: (6) Baby Fratelli – The Fratellis
