Synopsis
:
SpongeBob SquarePants is
an optimistic, free-spirited sponge that was born in a rectangular
shape, much like a kitchen sponge. Living at the bottom of
the sea in a pineapple in the community of Bikini Bottom,
SpongeBob works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab diner, where
his friends include a Squidward the squid and Patrick the
starfish.

Review:
It’s
hard not to fall in love with SpongeBob’s “all
too cute” charm and his best friend, Patrick Starfish’s
goofiness. Even if this movie is your first encounter with
SpongeBob’s world, you won’t get lost in SpongeBob
SquarePants Movie, the movie adaptation of one of the Nickelodeon
channel’s best animations.
The plot of this movie in a seashell goes something like this:
Plankton (the evil doer) hatch an evil plan to steal Krusty
Krab’s popular Krabby Patty recipe and it’s up
to SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick to save the day. They
have to venture out of Bikini Beach (the place where SpongeBob
SquarePants lived in) and head towards Shell City with evil
lucking all around.
Yes! There is a plot and a morale that this movie is trying
to get across to the audience but this movie follows an almost
never ending series of nonsensical zany moments that will
make some audience forget what actually went on. The audience
will properly be laughing so hard at the SpongeBob and friends’
antics and the humorous yet irrelevant scenes that are thrown
at them that the plot will become secondary and almost forgettable.
Adults and teenagers will properly get more kicks out of this
film than kids. Although this film is seemly made for young
children, a lot of the jokes are rather crude and will properly
be only understood by the older folks. Some Scenes with SpongeBob
and Patrick going overdose with ice cream, waking up with
hangover, is similar in the manner of alcohol abuse and Patrick
in a fishnet stocking are not exactly what you would like
your kids or nephew to watch. Therefore Parental Guidance
for young kids is rather important for this film (This is
not Finding Nemo!).
And of course like many TV turned movies, this one is also
filled with celebrities’ cameos, such as David Hasselhoff,
Alec Baldwin and Scarlett Johansson. Among these three celebrities,
David Hasselhoff drew the biggest laughs and how can a film
about beach and seas do without the world’s favorite
lifeguard? Keep an eye out for his appearance.
It’s not necessary to strain oneself into giving too
much detailed information or serious review for this film.
Forget about the plot, the gay issues (that been plaguing
SpongeBob) or even the “Be yourself” morale and
simply enjoy this movie (just like what you would do when
you watch an episode of SpongeBob on TV)!
Get ready to be absorbed in to SpongeBob SquarePants’
world.
