THOR 2 loses its director Patty Jenkins

It was to be the first major superhero movie to be directed by a female, but alas that anticipation has come undone. Deadline Hollywood reported today that Patty Jenkins, best known for directing Charlize Theron in Monster and the pilot of AMC's The Killing, has left the production of THOR 2.

Patty apparently left the production due to "creative differences" with Marvel, and the studio is already looking for fresh blood to fill the void. It will have to do so quick, if it is to meet the November 15 2013 release date it had originally set for the sequel.

THOR 2 sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-wielding superhero, with the script written by Don Payne.
