Any self-respecting fan of action movies should take note of "THE RAID: REDEMPTION", a movie that's been hailed along with the likes of ONG BAK as one of the gamechanging movies for the genre. Festive Films and Cathay-Keris Films are proud to release the movie in Singapore, and they have announced that the release date will be pushed forward to a week earlier (i.e. 17 May) from its original.
Opening to packed audiences in its home country in addition to rave reviews all over the world, THE RAID has clocked up 760,000 admissions after ten days, breathing life into an industry that has lay all but comatose in the past two years. Even its director Gareth Evans has acknowledged the success of the movie, saying " This is a huge amount for us in such a short space of time. Indonesia hasn't had a local film break the 1,000,000 admissions mark in the two years since The Dreamer Sang pemimpi (2009). And we hope that the audiences continue to support the film and help us cross the million admissions line soon."
