"TAXI! TAXI!" - THE NUMBER 1 MOVIE IN SINGAPORE IN THE FIRST WEEK OF 2013!

Local production TAXI! TAXI! starts its engine and zoomed to the top position at the local box office chart as the Number One movie in the first week of 2013! The movie grossed a total of S$737,000 in 13 days, which includes the sneak previews from 28 December before the movie opened theatrically on 3 January, with a total of 21 screens island-wide.

In its opening week, TAXI! TAXI! grossed S$592,000 (3rd Jan – 9th Jan) beating other blockbusters including Chow Yun Fatt’s THE LAST TYCOON which opened on the same day; Hollywood’s LES MISERABLES which is in it’s 3rd week. The fantastic result has given the local film industry another huge boost and TAXI! TAXI! looks set to hit the S$1 million mark at the end of film’s run.

First-time movie director Kelvin Sng is overwhelmed by the box office results. He shares, “I have never expected such results from the local audience given that it’s my first time directing a full feature film! I sincerely want to thank the audience for giving TAXI! TAXI! their support and hope that more people will watch the movie to help us to achieve the $1 million mark!”
