With funding from China (not a lot in this case), HK based director Derek Chiu takes on another patriotic drama, 72 MARTYRS about the uprising in 1911. Starring Alan Tam, Eric Tsang, Irene Wan, Bosco Wong, Raymond Lam, Elanne Kwong, Liu Kai Chi, Tse Kwan Ho etc. 

Very much like our National Service, Jackie Chan did his part in 1911. Herman Yau contributed THE WOMAN KNIGHT OF MIRROR LAKE. Not forgetting Huang Jianxin and Han Sanping's BEGINNING OF THE GREAT REVIVAL. The trend isn't going to stop any time soon given it's the Mainland investors who are now holding on to the $$$. Every HK/China or Chinese star are eager for a blink-and-you-miss slot just to prove their allegiance and keep a look out for cantopop singer Alan Tam's horrifying accented putonghua in the trailer:
