Michale Fassbender named Best Actor for SHAME at Venice Film Festival

Festive Films is proud to announce that Michael Fassbender was named the Coppa Volpi Best Actor award at this year's Venice Film Festival for his role in Shame, directed by the Turner Prize-winning artist, Steve McQueen. The award was presented on Saturday night for his outstanding performance as a sex-addicted New Yorker in the troubling drama. Carrey Mulligan stars as his younger sister. This is the second time McQueen and Fassbender have worked together – they paired up on Hunger in 2008, a drama which documented the notorious Maze Prison protest. Hunger was McQueen’s debut film which won him the Camera d’Or at Cannes.
