G&J Creation, Stellar Megamedia International, Aquila Energy and Clover Films proudly announce the filming commencement of Meeting The Giant 《再见巨人》
MEETING THE GIANT, the Singapore-China co-production by G & J Creation, Stellar Megamedia International, Aquila Energy and Clover Films has commenced filming early August. The filming will begin in Singapore and the group will proceed to China for rest of the shoot later this month.
Based on a true story, MEETING THE GIANT centers on foreign sports talent imports in Singapore. MEETING THE GIANT is the brainchild of veteran actor Zhu Hou Ren and it marks Singaporean actor Tay Ping Hui’s directorial debut.
MEETING THE GIANT adopts many young talents into the movie from both Singapore and China. As the main cast are required to be skilled in playing basketballs, multiple rounds of auditions were held in both Singapore and China to achieve the optimal cast mix. We are proud to present the main basketball players of MEETING THE GIANT from both Singapore and China, namely: Li Guang Ming, Delun Goh Kok Chiang 吴国江, Lim Sheng Yu 林圣宇, Chua Seng Jin, Ng Hanbin 黄汉斌. Apart from these new faces, MediaCorp artiste Ian Fang方伟杰 also stars as a basketball player in the movie. Two up and coming young actresses from China - Na Guangzi 那 广子 and Zhuyan Manzi 朱颜曼滋 will also be starring in the movie. Na Guangzi stars as the secretary of Boss Long and Zhuyan Manzi is the love interest of one of the lead basketball players.
The S$1.5 million movie project MEETING THE GIANT is presented by Allgreen Properties, one of the largest property groups in Singapore with primary focus on residential property development. StarHub is the Main Sponsor of the movie. The movie is supported by Singapore Sports Council. Golden Village Pictures is the co-distributor of MEETING THE GIANT‘s release in Singapore.
MEETING THE GIANT is slated for release in the 2nd Quarter of 2014 and is scheduled to be released simultaneously in Singapore and China.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF SINGAPORE- CHINA CO-PRODUCTION "MEETING THE GIANT" 《再见巨人》
Spearheaded by G&J Creation, Stellar Megamedia International and Clover Films, “MEETING THE GIANT” 《再见巨人》is collaboration between Singapore and China. The team behind “MEETING THE GIANT” seeks to be the first Singapore and China co-production to be theatrically released in both countries in 2014.
“MEETING THE GIANT” is the brainchild of veteran actor Zhu Hou Ren. Inspired by a true story, Producer Zhu Hou Ren has conceptualized this movie for years but met with many challenges which includes finding a reputable partner with strong presence in the China market. Hou Ren is now assured that the movie is in good hands with the involvement of Stellar Megamedia which will invest and oversee the release of the movie in China with the network of close to 70 cinemas.
“MEETING THE GIANT” marks Singapore actor Tay Ping Hui’s directorial debut. With years of experience in acting, Ping Hui is all set for challenges behind the scene. The script for “MEETING THE GIANT” will be managed by Danny Yeo. With more than 50 years of experience between the three, “MEETING THE GIANT” will definitely be one of the highly anticipated movie of 2014.
“MEETING THE GIANT” is scheduled to commence filming in end July 2013. Filming will take place in Singapore before continuing in China. Search is on for new faces to undertake the roles of the budding basketball players.
